Specialising in high-end housing and multi-unit constructions and renovations, with basement underground carparking, Shangri-La Constructions is responsible for some opulent recent developments in the Bayside area. Says Managing Director Obai Naqebullah says, "Our company prides itself on exceeding both contractual and industry expectations."
Obai has used Bowens for their timber hardware and bricklayers hardware needs from the get-go.
"A friend referred Bowens to me, and my representative is George Stolz. I find the pricing to be extremely competitive and the service very good. But the main thing is the customer service, that's very important to the company and in my decision to use Bowens", he says.
Obai says George is a good listener and particularly good at sourcing different materials.
Shangri-La uses hardware, wall frames and roof trusses from Bowens, liaising with George and sending out the site manager to the Oakleigh store at least once a week, if not more.
"As long as the pricing stays competitive, we plan to continue using Bowens", he says.
"George comes out on-site as well as to our head office, and he always gets what we need pretty quickly", says Obai.
Because of how quickly the company has been expanding, Obai concedes that they have needed to call George for some very fast work at times.
"There was a problem on site with one of the structural columns - but George sent a team of carpenters to the site within hours and they fixed it swiftly."
With such rapid expansion, Shangri-La constructions is set to be the name on everyone's lips in Melbourne's bayside area.
