WorkSafe recently released three new publications to assists builders with the commencement of a new project site.

As a builder you may choose to use one, two or all three of the documents.  It may be more effective for your business to develop your own checklist using the elements contained in all three documents.

 The documents are titled:

  • Planning for Safety - Site Establishment worksheet
  • Planning for Safety - Trade Ready
  • Back to Basics Checklist

The Site Establishment Worksheet is designed to help you meet the requirements of the Construction Regulations in a very simple format.  The worksheet should be completed during the planning stage of the project.  The worksheet will assist with the establishment of site rules, first aid details and emergency contact details.  This information will form the site specific induction.

The Trade Ready worksheet is available to ensure the site is trade ready for the next trade coming in and to ensure that any hazards are fixed.

Back to Basics Checklist is a summary of the recommended process that a builder should follow to ensure safety on site before a project commences.

Copies of these documents are available below or on the WorkSafe website.
