Delivering High-Performance Windows with Thermotek
The Manufacturing Process
When designing a coastal home in Anglesea, Evans Building Group needed to achieve a low U-value and ensure high thermal performance. However, with the property’s orientation and exposure to the elements, the builder needed a solution that could meet energy efficiency targets without compromising the design.
That’s when Dan Evans and his team turned to Thermotek, leaders in uPVC window and door systems.
The Challenge
Standard aluminium windows couldn’t achieve the desired energy rating due to high heat transfer and the limited sealing capabilities of the windows.
“We needed to achieve a high-performance build because of the location and the orientation of the house. That’s where Thermotek and their UPVC windows come into play,” Dan Evans, Evans Building Group, said.
The Solution
Thermotek’s tilt and turn windows and Smart Slide doors were selected for their high performance, airtightness and the ability to customise.

Tilt & Turn Window Benefits
- Multi-point locking for enhanced security and performance
- Dual compression seals to reduce air infiltration and heat transfer
- Two-in-one functionality where you can tilt for ventilation, turn for full access.
“These are our highest performing windows,” Alex Nyhuis, Thermotek’s Business Development Manager said. “They’ve got multiple seals. Once you crank the window in, it compresses to give that tight feel.”
Smart Slide Door Benefits
- Effortless operation with precision-engineered rolling systems
- Large expanses of glass for uninterrupted views and to maximise natural light
- Flush pull handles on the outside for sleek, functional design with the option for handles on both sides
- Tight compression sealing when locked for improved energy efficiency.
“This is probably our number one best seller in our sliding doors. It has big expanses of glass and smooth rolling,” Alex added.
Behind the Build
Thermotek’s Dandenong facility ensures quality and consistency across every project. Using advanced CNC processing technology, every frame and component is custom-cut, drilled and machined to exact specifications, ensuring each unit performs flawlessly once installed.
Precision Manufacturing
- Automated CNC machines handle up to 180 units per shift with only two operators
- Software integration ensures every order matches the signed-off design
- In-built quality control checkpoints catch deviations early for immediate rectification
- Each frame is reinforced for strength and can withstand cyclonic wind loads.
“We’re not limited. If you want to change handles, handle heights or make something completely custom, we can also build it in. Once we set it up, it’ll be done the same way every single time,” Jack Werner, Thermotek’’s Manufacturing Manager said.
Sustainable Window & Door Frames
The inner profile of each Thermotek window is made from recycled materials, while the outer layer uses new laminates for durability and finish. The entire window and door unit can be fully recycled, keeping materials out of landfill.
“We’re big on sustainability. The entire frame can be recycled again at the end of its life,” Jack added.
Consistency & Quality Manufacturing

Thermotek’s Australian-made systems are backed by ongoing testing, maintenance and local expertise.
“From concept to testing to implementation, we make sure everything functions the way it should when it gets to site,” Jack confirmed.
Thermotek windows and doors are Australian-made and sourced from local importers. If you’re interested in Thermotek windows and doors for your next project, feel free to contact your account manager or local store for more information.
