In just a few short years, Evans Building Group has carved out a reputation as one of Victoria’s leading bespoke residential builders. Founded in 2020 by Dan Evans, the company has become synonymous with architectural quality, craftsmanship, and client care.

Dan’s journey began with an apprenticeship under a high-end builder in Torquay, where he first developed a passion for custom homes. Over the next decade, he worked across both residential and commercial projects, managing large crews and complex sites. This combination of on-the-tools experience and management know-how laid the groundwork for establishing his own company.

“When I started Evans Building Group, it was just me and another guy on the tools,” Dan recalls. “We worked flat out, job by job. Over time the projects got bigger and more ambitious — and the business grew with them.”

Like many emerging builders, Dan faced hurdles with insurance restrictions, scaling up gradually as EBG proved itself with consistent quality. Rising material costs and labour shortages added pressure, but EBG embraced transparent cost-plus contracts, giving clients real-time visibility on costs and reinforcing trust.

This commitment to professionalism and client-first service has paid off. In 2024, EBG received the Master Builders Victoria Excellence in Health and Safety Award, recognising its dedication not just to quality but also to the wellbeing of clients and trades. From safety management plans and site inductions to innovative solutions for challenging builds, EBG has consistently raised the bar.
